·         1st/2nd Year APPRENTICE CHEF

Reporting to the Head Chef, you will be motivated in food preparation, presentation and service across our three venues.

You must be eager and enthusiastic about cooking. Becoming a part of our kitchen team means ensuring that food standards, preparation, presentation and cooking techniques are carried out according to established recipes and procedures.

You will be customer service driven and have the capacity to multi task. You are able to thrive under pressure and have the ability to meet tight deadlines. You are available to work varied shifts, including early mornings, weekends and public holidays. You must have the ability to work autonomously as well as within a team.

All candidates must hold a current food handlers certificate and Australian police check.

Searoad Ferries is offering a rare opportunity for 2 Full-Time Trainees to join their staff as Maritime Tourism Trainees.

The traineeship offered is Hospitality / Steward – (Certificate III in Hospitality)

Trainees will learn key Hospitality skills through ‘on the job’ and formal training.

Duties will include but are not limited to:



• Assist in the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the vessel

• Assist in the onboard and shore based Cafe’s

• Develop Hospitality skills through on the job experience

• Undertake cleaning activities in cafes

• Assist with all Food & Beverage tasks including food preparation

• Serve beverages including alcohol & coffee Successful applicants will:

• Have the ability to work with computers

• Follow procedures and take directions

• Be willing to work a shift roster which includes long hours, weekends and public holidays

• Be a team player

• Maintain a professional image

• Maintain a high level of customer service

• Be punctual, reliable and flexible

• Have the ability to work under pressure

• Have a passion for learning new skills
