The Mornington Peninsula Shire manages foreshore camping along the natural foreshore reserves with beach access in Rosebud, Rye and Sorrento. These locations are great for accessing many of the Mornington Peninsula’s recreational activities including swimming, walking, cycling and relaxing.
Campsites are close to all local amenities including local shops, cafes, national parks/reserves, shared bay trails and are just a short drive to the peninsula’s surf beaches and Western Port Bay. These sites offer a wonderful place to enjoy a great holiday experience.
Capel Sound Foreshores operates caravan / camping reserves at Rosebud West and Tootgarook with a total of 300 powered sites and 46 unpowered sites. Both camping reserves are managed from the Rangers office in Rosebud West.
Tootgarook Foreshore operates on a seasonal basis from December to April each year while the Rosebud West Foreshore operates ALL YEAR ROUND.
The Peak Season operates from mid December until the end of January, Easter and all long weekends. Booking is required for the peak periods. Bookings are open until April each year for the forthcoming peak season, and current caravan park users (Seasonal Camper) are given first preference.
