Start at Queenscliff. Grand Victorian architecture, fine hotels and quaint fisherman’s cottages nod to a colourful history while there’s plenty of fun to be had at contemporary galleries and excellent places to eat, drink and shop.

Fort Queenscliff and various museums in town reflect on the vibrant past and let visitors take a real step back in time with hands-on activities. It’s education disguised as fun.

Queenscliff is a great starting point for coastal exploration, with dolphins swims, scuba diving and wildlife tours departing from the harbour. Further afield, the bay beaches from St Leonards to Portarlington offer stunning coastal walks with views to the Melbourne skyline, gentle family-friendly water and plenty of jetties to cast lines and land the catch of the day. Point Lonsdale back beach, Ocean Grove and 13th Beach are where the surf coast begins and local and visiting surfers are usually out looking for the perfect break.

The Bellarine is a brilliant place to discover and meet makers and growers of the most delicious food and drink produce. Follow the Bellarine Taste Trail to discover wineries, farm gates, local produce and provedores. You should bring your clubs too, with five local golf courses regularly rated in the top 100 in Australia.
